FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: the suggested tampon contains nonwoven covering possessing, at least, one outwards facing smooth surface and liquid-absorbing center, moreover, nonwoven covering contains, at least, partially thermoplastic, thermomeltable fibers and is pressed to obtain final tampon's shape. Before applying nonwoven covering material onto tampons model the mentioned material is subjected to heat and pressure impact during the process of tampon's manufacturing with the purpose to smoothing, at least, external surface of nonwoven covering material and tampon's absorbing capacity. This enables to simplify and make tampon's insertion and removal to be comfortable both before the days of heavier menstruations and after them, or even in case of poor vaginal secretions to protect panties.
