FIELD: personal demand items.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to intravaginal feminine hygiene tampon comprising a substantially cylindrical absorbent pad and an extraction member operably connected to the substantially cylindrical pad in close proximity to its end for extraction. The absorbent pad includes a mass of fibres compressed into a separate mould and a fluid pervious sheet coating substantially covering the mass of fibres. The absorbent pad has at least one continuous groove shape formed thereon or therein, comprising a plurality of substantially longitudinal groove segments connected only to form a coil arranged alternately in close proximity to the insertion end and the extraction end, and wherein the continuous shape the groove extends along the circumference of the substantially cylindrical absorbent pad by at least 180°.
