FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves progressively moving tape by means of pressing members imparted motion in direction of rotation and adjoining to pressing zone; simultaneously forming at least three longitudinal slots arranged at equal angular spaces; dividing nonwoven tape forming pressed cord into parts of predetermined length; transmitting motion to nonwoven tape in direction of advancement by means of pressing members driven in direction of rotation in plane extending transverse to its longitudinal direction and simultaneously pressing in radial direction to obtain required section of pressed cord and providing with three longitudinal slots. EFFECT: increased efficiency by continuous production of absorbing articles and reduced production costs. 25 cl, 32 dwg
