FIELD: organic synthesis catalysts. SUBSTANCE: invention provides catalyst for use, in particular, in synthesis of 1,2-dichloroethane via oxychlorination of ethylene in fluidized-bed or fixed-bed reactor. Catalyst is prepared by impregnation of gamma-alumina with magnesium salt, drying of impregnated product, and impregnation with copper salt, preferably with lithium salt.
