ELECTRIC PULSE METHOD OF WATER PURIFICATION Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2220110 C2

FIELD: industrial water purification. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents an electric pulse method of water purification. from physico-chemical and microbiological pollution, including heavy metals, petroleum, lubricating-cooling liquids, an organic compounds, toxins, carcinogens, microorganisms, radionuclides and other impurities and may be used in any industry, agricultural and municipal services in processes of water preparation and sewage purification. The method provides for treatment of water and the water containing impurities in a granular layer of metal using pulse electric discharges. A water treatment is made by a successive application of the high-voltage and heavy current pulses with opposite polarity at a ratio of the heavy current pulses energy to the high-voltage pulses within the range of 0.1-10, and at that the electric potential of the high-voltage pulses equals to 800-1000 V, the electric potential of the heavy current pulses 100-300 V, and the strength of the current pulses is accordingly 150-300 A and 500- 1500 A. EFFECT: decrease of purification time and power consumption. 3 ex
