METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SHORT-TIME TEST OF BREAKDOWN VOLTAGE OF LIQUID DIELECTRIC Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: instrumentation, tests of electric strength of insulation of liquid dielectric. SUBSTANCE: method consists in supply of constant voltage with growing amplitude to electrodes in testing cell. Distance between electrodes is set so that breakdown in interelectrode gap occurs with voltage multiply less than rated value of breakdown voltage of liquid dielectric, breakdown voltage is recorded to determine value of breakdown voltage of liquid dielectric. Recorded voltage is scaled to indicate its absolute value. Device for realization of method has testing cell, step-up transformer, control circuit, signal forming circuit, sawtooth voltage generator, two heterpolar keys and doubler circuit. EFFECT: shortened time of test, increased authenticity of measurements, reduced energy consumption, raised operation safety of device ensuring tests of systems with liquid dielectric. 6 cl, 2 dwg
