FIELD: foundry. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of passing electric current directly on melt at process of filling mold and during its solidification; at process of filling mold passing current with density no less than 104A/m2 due to successive arrangement of contacts on casting; as solid phase quantity in solidified metal increases, increasing electric current density from 108A/m2 to 105; after termination of casting crystallization lowering electric current density until achieving temperature of casting in range (0,2-0,5)Tmlt; selecting value of electric current density according to phase state of metal. Method allows to control relation between solid and liquid phases and state of aggregation of casting material, to control speed and time period of metal crystallization. EFFECT: lowered structural non-uniformities and mechanical stresses of casting, reduced possibility for occurring of metal short run, gaseous porosity and axial friability.
