FIELD: foundry, possibly treatment of any metals and alloys. SUBSTANCE: method comprises step of passing electric current of sine or pulse waveform with frequency more than 5.9 Hz and current density in range 1•103 - 1•105 A/м2 through casting during crystallization of it. Such parameters of electric current provide disintegration of grain size along the whole volume of casting or its predetermined parts. In order to make castings with predetermined distribution of grain size in different cross sections of casting, electric current is passed trough casting at predetermined change of its frequency.
