FIELD: cellulose industry. SUBSTANCE: the plate for steam injection has elongated openings designed for steam injection to the mat through the adjoining steam-distributing plate. The steam-distributing has slots communicating with the plate openings for steam injection for attainment of a uniform and complete steam distribution over the whole mat in the process of densification. Steam is injected and discharged through one and the same plate for steam injection so that the opposite plate of the press may be textured or provided with a deep relief for obtaining of various kinds of embossing on the main surfaces of the densified cellulose article.
