FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; production of cast iron in blast furnaces. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes loading blowing-in burden at constant ore loading of 2.8-3.5 t/t of coke beginning with first portion of iron-ore materials which is placed in furnace at height inversely proportional to hot blast temperature at moment of blowing-in of furnace. Hearth of furnace is loaded with coke and intact automobile tires at outer diameter lesser than da, pieces of tires lesser than da in size through ports of air tuyere units, where da is outer diameter of flange of intermediate cooler. Tires are loaded in the following amount, t: M=[0.0039+0.013 (Vbl-0,3)]•Vus.vol,], where Vbl is flow rate of blast, cu m/min per cu m Vus.vol of useful volume of furnace. Loading the tires is started after filling the hearth with coke to height Ht = 9,0,4M/D2, where D is diameter of furnace hearth, m considering Ht from level of air tuyeres, portion of tires are Mt = M/4 each are covered with coke of mass 0.79 M, where M is mass of tires loaded into hearth. EFFECT: increased yield of hearth gas; low cost of energy carrier. 6 cl, 4 dwg, 5 tbl, 1 ex
