FIELD: medical engineering; medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves illuminating eye with light source and producing eye image pictures one under the other with minimum distance separating them on computer display screen with following analysis of their movements. An area is selected on the video picture of each eye within which the eye pupil moves. A figure is found in this area which shape and size match the eye pupil on shape and size. Parameter analysis is based on the figure center movement analysis. To do it, its motion trajectory is recorded and amplitude and frequency of motion spectral components are measured. The device has light source for illuminating eyes, light-scattering unit, video camera for making input of moving pupil images via analog-to-digital converter into computer.
