FIELD: chemical and oil refining industries. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of production of bitumen and a device for its implementation. The invention is intended for production of bitumen by continuous oxidation of fluid petroleum residue and may be used in oil refining and chemical industry. The invention provides for atomization, dispersion and oxidation of fluid petroleum residue. The operations are executed in an acoustic field generated by streams of the raw material and air. At that directions of the streams rotation coincide. The device is supplied with a cavitation - whirlwind apparatus containing the acoustical injector for an atomization of the raw material and the acoustical generator mounted on a branch-pipe of the air supply and located tangentially to a side surface of the cavitation - whirlwind apparatus. On the outlet of the streams from the cavitation - whirlwind apparatus there is a channel made in the form of the hyperboloid of rotation. EFFECT: improved quality of bitumen, intensification of the oxidation process, increased reliability and serviceability of the device for production of bitumen. 4 cl, 2 dwg
