SET TIME SYNCHRONIZATION SUPPORTED BY MOBILE STATION IN CDMA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2222102 C2

FIELD: communication systems. SUBSTANCE: slave base station attains synchronization with master base station through messages transferred from mobile station and received by mobile station either in soft service transmission area between master base station and slave base station or within coverage area enabling mobile station to support communications with slave base station. When mobile station does not communicate with both master and slave base stations, master base station measures signal passage delay time in forward and backward directions between mobile station and master base station. Master base station conveys pseudonoise code used by mobile station over backward link to slave base station. Slave base station locks on signal from mobile station and finds out when signal has arrived from mobile station. Then slave base station executes this operation and evaluates delay time between signal transmission from mobile station to slave base station. These measurement and evaluation data are used by slave base station to determine error in system time of slave base station. EFFECT: ability of time synchronization when part of network can receive centralized sync signal and use it for synchronization and part of base stations cannot receive it. 8 cl, 9 dwg
