FIELD: high-temperature plasma engineering. SUBSTANCE: device that can be used in developing high-power X-ray sources and is built around multiwire liner which is, essentially, set of straight metal wires whose ends are arranged on two coaxially mounted annular electrodes spaced apart along axis so that contacting point on one end of each wire is disposed on one annular electrode and that of other end, on other annular electrode; annular electrodes are connected to pulse current supply. Metal wires are covered with insulating coating. Novelty is that insulating material covering wires is of higher density than material of wires. Device provides for eliminating low-density plasma corona. EFFECT: enhanced energy output of roentgen rays. 3 cl, 1 dwg
