FIELD: testing equipment. SUBSTANCE: method includes measurement of thermal effect of oxidation of material. Thermal effect of oxidation is determined for series of various samples of material and correction to thermal effect of oxidation is graphically found by extrapolation of linear section of dependence of specific thermal effect on value of sample to zero sample. Excess energy is established as sum of thermal effect of oxidation and correction to thermal effect leaving out thermal effect of reaction of oxidation of metal.
