FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method of analyzing the substance by the thermoanalytical way is to determine its fire and explosion hazard according to the exothermic oxidation effect and the starting heat release temperature. The substance identification is carried out simultaneously according to the exothermic oxidation effect, and the value of the average heat release rate is additionally used to determine the fire and explosion hazard of the substance, calculated according to the formula I=ΔQ/ΔT, where ΔQ - exothermic oxidation effect (J/g), and ΔT - temperature range width of the exothermic oxidation peak at half of its height (°C).
EFFECT: ability to simultaneously identify the substance and to determine its fire and explosion hazard; improving the reliability and accuracy in estimating fire and explosion hazard of substances and materials; expanding the opportunities for researching fire and explosion hazard; reducing time and labour costs; rapidity of the method.
