METHOD FOR PREDICTING RESTRICTIVE DISORDERS OF RESPIRATORY BIOMECHANICS IN PATIENTS AT ARTIFICIAL PULMONARY VENTILATION Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, anesthesiology, resuscitation. SUBSTANCE: with the help of two-lumen probe one should measure esophageal and gastric pressure simultaneously at stationary preset parameters of respiratory assistance and at decreased amplitude of these pressures being by 20% higher against amplitude of pressures obtained before restrictive disorders one should diagnose pulmonary edema; at increased amplitude of the above-mentioned pressures being by 20% higher one should diagnose pneumothorax, and at increased amplitude of esophageal pressure and decreased one of gastric pressure being by 20% higher one should diagnose acute intraperitoneal hypertension. The present innovation enables to differentiate acute restrictive disorders of respiratory biomechanics in case of pulmonary edema, pneumothorax and acute intraperitoneal hypertension.
