FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out hard coagulation periradical zone of the iris with argon laser allover the whole perimeter. Radiation power intensity is selected so that coagulants assume golden brown color, exposure time is equal to 0.1 s, coagulant diameter is equal to 200 mcm. The coagulants are arranged tightly close to each other. Their quantity is individual being enough to cover the whole perimeter. Then, pupil is widened and the first stage of panretinal coagulation is carried out. Macular zone is irradiated in grid mode. The following four steps are carried out with three weeks long pause in performing retinal pancoagulation. The III degree coagulants are selected. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment.
