FIELD: machine engineering, possibly manufacture of high-pressure bottles, namely steel bottles of fire extinguishers. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of twisting steel disc blank to hood with convex bottom; forming bottom of hood by imparting to its supporting surface stable contour; making cylindrical housing of bottle due to subjecting hood walls to ironing; then shaping mouth of bottle by cold or hot squeezing of edges of housing; making bottle of low carbon steel; performing ironing of housing walls during 2 - 6 operations at intermediate recrystallization annealing; performing cold squeezing of housing edge during 2 - 6 operations at recrystallization annealing realized in one or in two operations; performing hot squeezing of housing edge during 1 - 2 operations. EFFECT: simplified process for making bottle with comfortable stable shape at lowered metal consumption, lowered cost of bottle.
