FIELD: drilling. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to controlled drilling with use of jackhammer during which pressure in space behind pistons supporting shank is measured with the help of pressure transducer. Data of pressure measurements are utilized for current control of reflected backward pulse which comes from rock mass back to drilling bit and further to pistons through drilling machine. Backward pulse causes pistons to move back which results in increased pressure in space behind pistons. This leads to emergence of pressure pulse which differs from rated variations of pressure caused by impact motion and can be measured by pressure transducer. On basis of measurement results of this pulse control unit adjusts impact power and feed of drilling machine and other parameters influencing drilling process. Invention also refers to gear which includes means measuring pressure pulses in correspondence with proposed process. EFFECT: effective and accurate control over drilling machines. 10 cl, 4 dwg
