FIELD: quantum electronics; all-metal high-frequency excited disk gas lasers. SUBSTANCE: used as radiating head of laser is metal resonator whose capacitive section is presented by gap between metal mirrors of hybrid optical resonator and inductive section, by toroidal metal cavity. The latter encloses hybrid optical resonator mirrors over perimeter and forms, together with mirror-to-mirror gap, quasistationary toroidal radio-frequency cavity. Shape and size of the latter are chosen to tune radio-frequency cavity to pumping frequency. Energy of high-frequency electric pumping field concentrates in narrow mirror-to-mirror gap like in capacitor and at certain level causes breakdown in working gas mixture thereby transforming it into active state resulting in generation of induced radiation. EFFECT: prevented leakage of high-frequency pump energy into environment; simplified design and enhanced strength of laser. 1 cl, 2 dwg
