FIELD: food-processing industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing biopolymers, decomposition products thereof or derived and/or synthetic polymers with at least one edible plasticizer, at least one softener and at least one cross-linking agent; melting resultant mixture into thermoplastic mass; extruding said mass and calendaring and/or drawing or providing pneumatic molding of extruded product to produce edible formed body, which is suitable for packing of food products, such as sausage and cooked ham. Such bodies are suitable, in particular, as seamless casing for sausage products.
