FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to smoke- and water-proof, sleeve-type, biaxial-oriented enclosure for foodstuffs, and to method of its production and application. The proposed enclosure is produced from a thermoplastic mix representing, at least, one aliphatic (co)polyamide and, at least, one water-soluble synthetic organic polymer. The method of producing the aforesaid enclosure consists in that the mix comprising, at least, one aliphatic (co)polyamide and, at least, one above-stated polymer, are subjected to thermal plasticising and extrusion through a ring atomiser into a primary sleeve. Then, the aforesaid primary sleeve is cooled. Now, it is heated up to the temperature required for expansion and, further on, it is biaxial extended to produce the above-described enclosure to be primarily used for smoke curing of cooked sausage.

EFFECT: producing smoke-proof enclosure that features water steam permeability of 40 to 200 g/m²/day.
