FIELD: rescue equipment which may be used for evacuation from tall buildings.
SUBSTANCE: descending apparatus has at least one unitized section for passage of cable, said section consisting of base with opening for fixing of hook and cover. Frictional roller is mounted on base. Brake member furnished with handle is pivotally coupled to base. At least one additional frictional roller and frictional cam are positioned on base, said frictional cam being connected to base. Cam front operating surface facing brake member is made curvilinear, and its profile corresponds to profile of operating surface of brake member. Front operating surface of cam is equally spaced from operating surface of brake member so as to define cable receiving groove. Descending apparatus is equipped with additional frictional member pivotally connected with base whose operating surface corresponds in its profile to rear operating surface of frictional cam and is equally spaced therefrom to define additional cable receiving groove.
EFFECT: enhanced safety of descending procedure and wider operational capabilities of descending apparatus.
