FIELD: rolling process; production of thin hot-rolled strips, 0.8-1.79 mm thick and 700-1500 mm wide. SUBSTANCE: at winding the strips, 0.8-1.79 mm thick fettling velocity does not exceed 690 m/min at temperature of 580-630 C for carbon steel at mass fraction of carbon of ≤0,05% within range of 600-650 C for steel at mass fraction of carbon of 0.06-0.15%; winding of front end of strip on drum of winder is performed at hold-down pressure of cassettes in pneumatic system of winders not exceeding 1.0 atm and time of contact of front end of strip with pressed cassettes of molding rollers ranges from 2 to 4 s. Proposed method ensures control of chemical composition of steel, thickness of strip, temperature metal before winding, fettling velocity and parameters of winding hot-rolled strip on winder drum.
