FIELD: mechanical engineering; threaded joints. SUBSTANCE: working surface of washer engageable with bolt or nut is formed as section of symmetrical curvilinear convex surface with vortex at washer axis, in form of truncated cone for example. Then, this surface is subjected to plastic deformation by setting between rigid parallel surfaces of press. After deformation, washer is calibrated by mechanical treatment for obtaining required sizes and roughness. EFFECT: reduced wear of washer end face at repeated use in heavily-loaded threaded joints. 3 dwg
