FIELD: air pre-heaters; air heating systems for power plants; mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed air pre-heater has outer and inner housings and tube bank made from U-shaped tubes whose inlets and outlets are located in end part of inner housing and are connected respectively with inlet and outlet air branch pipes; inner and outer housings are provided with engageable taper sections; taper section of outer housing is made at preset taper angle. Besides that, tube bank has rectangular cross section whose sides have ratio of 2:3.
