FIELD: means of individual protection, in particular, manufacture of helmets protecting the head against mechanical effects, bullets, shocks, fragments. SUBSTANCE: the protective helmet is manufactured of polygonal blanks cut out of a prepreg on the basis of ballistic cloth and film binder. Each blank is cut in the radial direction in lines that come out of the vertices of the polygon, to the central zone, then the blanks are laid one on another on a process die with a partial turning relative to one another with a subsequent hot molding. First, the first two blanks of the assembled stack, and then the last two blanks are molded on to each other. Then, the stack is placed in a furnace, heated in the furnace to the melting point of the binder, and in a hot state installed on the mould die, molded at a temperature below the binder softening temperature. EFFECT: enhanced quality of helmet, since in the offered process there was a success to avoid volatile products of high-temperature molding. 2 dwg
