FIELD: instrumentation engineering, detecting units of devices for identification gases and vapors. SUBSTANCE: surface acoustic wave sensor of gases and vapors has acoustic line on which working surface input and output converters of acoustic waves, thermoelectric element placed on side of acoustic line opposite to its working surface, temperature-sensitive resistor located in thermal contact with thermoelectric element, output signal recorder connected to output converter, temperature control unit which input is connected to output of temperature-sensitive resistor and which output is coupled to thermoelectric element and thermal buffer situated between thermoelectric element and acoustic line placed in thermal contact with them are positioned. EFFECT: enhanced functional sensitivity, expanded class of detected substances even if their concentrations in environment are insignificant. 2 cl, 3 dwg
