FIELD: electrical engineering; chemical current supplies. SUBSTANCE: novelty is that nickel-oxide plate has grid made of metal strip with slots to receive edge sealing gaskets, edge sealing gaskets, and porous layers filled with active material on both ends of grid. Metal strip for manufacturing nickel-oxide plate grid is 30 - 60 mcm thick and has definite configuration. Slots for edge sealing gaskets are stamped in this grid. Active material is introduced in porous layers, charge-discharge cycling is effected, whereupon porous layers are stamped with desired diameter. For final operation edge sealing gaskets, porous layers, and grid are assembled to form plate. EFFECT: enhanced yield. 5 cl, 3 dwg
