FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method to select a profile of electrodes surface for high-voltage dischargers consists in the fact that auxiliary electrodes are developed, the form of equipotential surfaces of the electric field between them is identified, and a generatrix of the electrode surface is selected using the form of the generatrix of one of equipotential surfaces. According to the invention, auxiliary electrodes are made of thin discs and/or cylinders and/or rods, at the same time potential of the equipotential line relative to any of two auxiliary electrodes is selected as equal to 0.4-0.6 U, where U - voltage between auxiliary electrodes.
EFFECT: increased electric strength of a discharger, increase of its reliability, stability and resource of operation.
