FIELD: making non-detachable joints of two or more metallic members, namely electric arc welding, possibly used in machine engineering, building, at restoration works. SUBSTANCE: converter includes bipolar transistor with insulated gate, power saving choke, inverse diode, latching circuit and control unit. The last includes comparator for comparing signal of regulator setting welding current with feedback control signal. Converter also includes pulse width modulator, resistor and capacitor.
