FIELD: mechanical engineering; conveyor transport. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in belt conveyors, roller beds, transporting devices used in metallurgy, mining and coal industries, construction and road-building machines and agriculture, i. e. in all industries and mechanisms where transportation systems are used. Roller of belt conveyor contains shell, axle, bearings whose outer races are fitted in bearing cups secured in end parts of shell, and inner races are secured on axle, and bearing seals. Roller is furnished additionally with hollow rod installed coaxially with axle and made in form of tube with widening conical adapter sections and end cylindrical parts. Bearing cups are secured inside end cylindrical parts of rod and are made with outer support necks by means of which bearing cups are secured in end parts of shell by means of ring supports. Improved rigidity and manufacturability are provided owing to elimination of cocking of bearing cups. EFFECT: increased service life both of shell and roller as a whole. 1 dwg
