FIELD: medicine, neurology. SUBSTANCE: in the period of burn shock and septicotoxemia one should detect the content of potassium and sodium ions in blood serum, compare their content against the norm and if their value is beyond the norm's limits one should calculate ratio coefficients of absolute potassium value for the moment of testing against average value of the norm and the ratio of absolute sodium value against average value of the norm and then the ratio of these potassium coefficients against sodium ones and at obtained value being below 0.80 for 48 h and more it is possible to predict development of polyneuropathy in case of burn trauma in the period of burn shock or septicotoxemia.
