FIELD: textile industry, in particular, method used in analysis of fabric structure. SUBSTANCE: method involves obtaining graphic information of fabric sample; dividing fabric sample into parts and measuring light intensity in each part; plotting light intensity profiles along weft threads and along warp threads; judging presence of thread in fabric by maximal light intensity profile and presence of pore in fabric by minimal light intensity profile; summing up light intensity values exceeding average profile values to obtain light intensity value of fabric with theoretical density; calculating filling and porosity values on the basis of ratio of average fabric sample light intensity to light intensity of sample having theoretical density.
