FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: technique includes shading of part of specimen with light-tight ring, excitation of luminescing centers by luminous flux in open part, transmission of luminescent radiation from open part through shaded part, recording of photoluminescence from open part and transited through shaded part of diamond, exposure of lines free of phonons and phonon wings of electron-oscillatory spectra of luminescence of open and shaded parts, determination of intensities of lines free of phonons when spectra of phonon wings of open and shaded part coincide and determination of population of lower energy levels of centers.
