FIELD: decontaminating radioactive materials. SUBSTANCE: device has rectangular or cylindrical tank,, means for loading radioactive materials into device, and inlet for feeding gaseous or liquid decontaminating solutions. Device also has self-contained rectangular or cylindrical internal container for its removal from device tank. Provided at bottom of this container is means for feeding steam and decontaminating solutions made in the form of horizontal and vertical hollow tubes with holes for accommodating radioactive material between vertical tubes. Bottom part of device is conically shaped and fitted onto steam and decontaminating material feeding unit; self-contained internal container is self-opening device with holes disposed on its generatrix and on upper cover. Holes are chosen depending on grain size of radioactive material; tank has sealed boxes on upper generatrix of device and sealed cover with hole. Hollow sealed cover is designed for filling with heat insulator or coolant. Hole in sealed cover is provided with valve communicating with hydraulic seal; tank bottoms are hollow structures for filling them with heat insulator or coolant.
