FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for collecting waste nuclear fuel (WNF) in the form of solid radioactive fragments of fuel elements (spillage) in rooms and on surfaces of hot chamber equipment. Volume and size of spillage is pre-evaluated, and location of its visible fragments is determined. Spillage is collected by means of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and placed into spillage collecting capsules, dried and sealed. Then it is evaluated whether spillage was fully collected and by using hydraulic system, at least once, fine spillage residues are washed away with water, e.g. with chemically demineralised water to collecting filtering element, arranged in similar capsule, dried and sealed.
EFFECT: completeness of collection of the whole spilt nuclear material within the limits of NPS hot chambers, and safety of personnel.
