FIELD: pulse engineering; excitation of metal-atom self-terminating lasers. SUBSTANCE: method for regulating voltage across storage capacitor of nanosecond pulse generator involves charging of storage capacitor with single pulse from power supply through quasi-resonant oscillatory circuit and its discharging at voltage equal to Ul, where Ul is load voltage. Storage capacitor is charged from [power supply to value equal to load voltage during only part of charging-current half-wave whose length is controlled by varying length of open oscillating process of quasi-resonant oscillatory circuit; moment of storage capacitor discharge is recognized by moment when same half-wave of charging current crosses zero, length of this half-wave being equal to half-cycle of charging-circuit inherent frequency.
