FIELD: road building machinery. SUBSTANCE: proposed roll contains vibrator, hydraulic drive motors of vibrator and roll, shell in form of set of disks of which liquid-filled tires are mounted. Tires are fitted close to one another or separately from plates of side surfaces. Detachable plates are found on end face surfaces of roll designed to decrease losses of vibration energy for deformation of side surfaces of tires in direction parallel to axis of roll. With roll operating under vibration mode, vibrator creates vibrations and transmits them to liquid inside tires. Liquid, being noncontractable medium, transmits vibration to outer surface of roll with is in contact with material to be compacted and transmits energy required for more effective compacting of material to material particles. Working surface of roll consisting of tires is materially deformable body, i.e. contact pattern is large and, consequently, time of action onto material is large also.
