FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, production of aluminum in electrolyzers winning aluminum by electrolytic process with crosswise arrangement of buses. SUBSTANCE: bus arrangement includes anode uprights, some of them being located closer to butt of bath and others being distant from it, sections of cathode buses placed on longitudinal input and output sides relative to direction of current. Cathode bars through which current flows over output side in opposite directions are connected to cathode buses. Cathode buses electrically coupled in packages of buses going to anode uprights are divided into packages of buses situated along butts and bottom of bath. Current flows over sections of cathode buses of input side in one direction and number of cathode bars connected to package under bottom closest to butt of electrolyzer is chosen in accordance with given relation.
