FIELD: wood-working industry. SUBSTANCE: method includes the procedure of wood drying by multiple alternation of the cycles of blow-down of the heat-transfer agent with removal of released vapors, vacuum treatment, preheating to a medium-volume temperature of 80 to 100 C, multiple alternation of the cycles of vacuum treatment, blow-down by the heat-transfer agent, each cycle of vacuum treatment is conducted by rapid vacuum treatment with the aid of a receiver quick-acting valves and pipe-lines with a permanent heating of wood in a drying chamber isolated from the atmosphere, and seasoning in the chamber is performed to a pressure equal to the equilibrium vapor pressure at the given temperature. Rapid vacuum treatment is accomplished with the aid of the receiver, the pressure in which before each cycle of vacuum treatment is built up to be equal to 1 to 10 mmHg, the receiver volume is made so that at its connection to the drying chamber the pressure in the latter would be lower than the equilibrium vapor pressure at the given temperature, quick-acting valves providing for connection of the drying chamber to the receiver during 0.1 to 0.5s, and for release of the pressure in the drying chamber during 0.5 to 5.0s, and connecting the drying chamber to the receiver with the aid of the pipe-line. EFFECT: enhanced quality of wood drying during a short period of time. 4 cl, 1 dwg
