FIELD: subsurface laying of combined copper-optical communication cables. SUBSTANCE: proposed Y-splice box designed for branching low-frequency conductors of combined cable at its nonsplit factory length by means of additional low-frequency copper- conductor communication cable has split paronite body accommodating splices of low-frequency copper conductors in polyethylene insulating sleeves; connectors installed in body on aluminum- polyethylene sheath of branching-off cable with low-frequency conductors and on aluminum- polyethylene sheath of input and output sections of combined communication cable which are joined together by means of at least one copper wire or sheet aluminum buses, best of 2.5 mm in thickness; within box aluminum foil is wound on splices of conductors, optical fibers, copper conductors, and sections of aluminum-polyethylene sheaths of cables carrying connectors.
