FIELD: metallurgy, namely processes for continuous casting of metals at electromagnetically acting upon liquid phase of aluminum billet. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes magnetic circuit with polyphase coil having poles of its windings supplied from different phases and shifted one relative to another along width of magnetic circuit. Two windings arranged at different sides of magnetic circuit symmetrically relative to axial axis of ingot are connected mutually opposite to one phase and two other windings are connected in a ordance with other phase. EFFECT: enhanced manufacturing properties of ingot, accelerated process of ingot solidification due to agitating melt simultaneously in horizontal and vertical planes. 3 dwg
