FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to continuous casting of metals with electromagnetic action on ingot liquid phase. Magnetic conductor is E-shaped, in grooves of which there are coils of winding connected in pairs to different phases of two-phase supply mains. E-shaped magnetic conductor has differently directed air gaps in the yoke and teeth and is installed around the crystallizer with teeth facing thereto and with possibility of displacement relative to crystallizer axis in horizontal and vertical planes. E-shaped magnetic conductor can be made of sheets of electrical steel, which have uniform opposite directed slots, or from wavily bent ferromagnetic wire.
EFFECT: invention increases efficiency of mixing a liquid core of a crystallizing ingot obtained on multigroove casting complexes.
