FIELD: powder composition, processes for hot pressing of steel powder compositions. SUBSTANCE: method for hot pressing of articles of high density from stainless steel powder comprises steps of preparing powder composition of chrome containing stainless steel powder with low content of carbon; mixing such powder with high temperature lubricant; pressing prepared mixture at elevated temperature; according to invention using stainless steel powder having low content of oxygen, silicon, carbon and inevitable impurities. Composition containing stainless low-carbon steel powder including chrome and high temperature lubricant according to invention contains water-sprayed hardened powder, mainly of carbon-free stainless steel with low content of oxygen and silicon including, mass%: chrome, 10 - 30; if necessary alloying additives; graphite, 0 - 0.4; inevitable impurities, no more than 0.5; high-temperature lubricant, 0.1 - 2.0.
