FIELD: powder metallurgy, namely pre-alloyed iron-base powders, possibly used for making parts of motor vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: water-sprayed pre-alloyed steel powder contains, mass %: carbon, no more than 0.01; chrome, 1.3 - 1.7; molybdenum, 0.15 - 0.3; manganese, 0.09 - 0.3; oxygen, no more than 0.25; iron and inevitable impurities, the balance. With use of such powder sintered articles with microstructure of low temperature bainite are produced. Powder is mixed with graphite and optionally with one or several additives selected from group including alloying elements, lubricant, binder, solid-phase material, reagent enhancing mechanical workability, reagent enhancing fluidity. Prepared mixture is pressed and non-sintered blank is sintered. Microstructure of sintered article includes at least 50%, preferably at least 70% and more preferably at least 90% of low-temperature bainite.
EFFECT: increased tensile strength, impact strength and percentage elongation of articles made of such powder.
