FIELD: carbon-containing liquid fuel ignition and stabilization of its burning. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes fuel supply, spraying, and heat treatment of injector-sprayed fuel jet in preheated prechamber; for heat treatment of sprayed fuel jet and preheating of prechamber wall use is made of open microwave-heating reactor (microwave reactor) at the same time checking for stabilized fuel burning by burning-zone and prechamber wall temperatures each time when microwave reactor power reduces. Water-carbon fuel is used as carbon-containing liquid fuel; in the process prechamber wall is preheated to temperature corresponding to that in fuel ignition zone ranging between 200 and 450 C. Water-oil fuel can be also used as carbon-containing liquid fuel in which case prechamber wall is preheated to temperature corresponding to that in fuel ignition zone ranging between 150 and 250 C.
