FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely processes and equipment for continuous casting of steel. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes jet 4, connected with said jet mixing chamber A with branch pipes 2 and 3 for feeding water and air respectively; splitter 5 placed in mixing chamber A. The last one is provided with throttling washer 1 stationary joined with water supply branch pipe 2. Throttling washer 1 has central calibrated opening for setting water flowrate. There is concentric gap for setting air flowrate between air supply branch pipe 3 and throttling washer 1. EFFECT: enhanced cooling conditions of continuously cast billet due to providing stable quantity of finely dispersed aqueous mist for cooling from water with any hardness degree. 1 dwg
