Method for preparing ribavirin involved enzymatic trans-glycosylation reaction of 1,2,4-triazole-3-carboxamide followed by isolation of the end product. The trans-glycosylation reaction is carried out in the presence of recombinant purine-nucleoside phosphorylase from E. coli BL21 (DE3)/pERPUPHO1 immobilized on the aminopropylated silochrome.
